Memorial of The
Immaculate Heart of Mary
The gospel of Luke recalls Mary thinking about the events of Jesus' early life in her heart and Simeon's prophecy that her heart would be pierced with a sword. The devotion to the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary celebrates Mary's interior life, her love for God, and humanity. It is the acknowledgement of her joys and sorrows. There is no one else as closely associated with our redemption then Mary. She is our direct pathway to Jesus Christ. As the Mother of Jesus, she has eternal love for God the Father, Jesus, her son, and has motherly compassion for all mankind.
The Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary closely aligns with the Sacred Heart of Jesus, though there are distinct differences. The veneration of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is directed to the "divine heart" overflowing with love for humanity. The devotion to Mary in The Immaculate Heart is the love that she has in her heart for Jesus and for God. With the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we show our love in response to Jesus' love for us. Mary's love aims to unite humankind to God through her heart.

O Most Blessed Mother, heart of love, heart of mercy, ever listening, caring, consoling, hear our prayer. As your children, we implore your intercession with Jesus your Son. Receive with understanding and compassion the petitions we place before you today…For peace throughout the World, and especially for our Country.
We are comforted in knowing your heart is ever open to those who ask for your prayer. We trust to your gentle care and intercession, those whom we love and who are sick or lonely or hurting. Help all of us, Holy Mother, to bear our burdens in this life until we may share eternal life and peace with God forever.
Amen.🙏
